Sonepar: autonomy and flexibly source for his companies
Patrick Conner
Patrick Conner joins the Sonepar USA family with over 22 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics and operations.
Pat (as he likes to be called) actually started his career at 14-years-old working for a small company. “I actually got my big break when my neighbor noticed my dedication out in the field and brought me into a corporate role,” Pat reflected.
He quickly moved up the corporate ladder, putting himself through night school and finally, earning degrees in Materials Management, Finance, and an MBA. “My last appointment was Director of Global Logistics for Dade Behring, a $1.6 billion medical equipment and reagent manufacturer. I was responsible for long-term global logistics strategy and operational execution throughout most of the world. This included everything from directing the activities of customer service, material planning and purchasing to managing traffic, warehousing and distribution worldwide.”
One of Patrick’s main areas of focus will be to leverage Sonepar USA’s massive sourcing power through the International Logistics Council. (ILC). This committee is made up of leaders from all Sonepar group’s companies. These managers have a know-how and a good experience in logistics. They will meet periodically to brainstorm opportunities, share best practices and make recommendations. “This innovative concept will strengthen the logistics and distribution of products and be a competitive advantage for Sonepar USA,” Pat explained.
Pat said he joined Sonepar because, “I believe in Sonepar’s business model. Our entrepreneurial spirit and family-oriented environment gives companies autonomy and flexibly. This structure keeps us focus on the customer and is key to building strong regional customer loyalty.”
