| Capital Lighting & Supply Breaks Ground for New Headquarters & Distribution Center
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (June 8, 2007) – Capital Lighting & Supply, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, hosted a Ground Breaking Ceremony for their new 220,000 square-foot headquarters and central distribution center.
“Capital Lighting and Supply’s decision to relocate to Prince George’s County is a symbol that our county is growing and has the right environment for businesses to grow,” said Jack Johnson, Prince Georges County Executive, who was in attendance for the event.
The new facility, which is expected to be fully operational by the summer of 2008, will create approximately 135 jobs, with company plans to expand and add six to eight additional branches throughout Maryland and Virginia over the next five years.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to relocate our headquarters and CDC facility in Prince Georges County,” said John Hardy, Capital Lighting & Supply President. “It has a strong economy, a great workforce and a wonderful business environment.”
The facility is being built in the Eastgate Business Park near the interchange of Pennsylvania Avenue and I-495 near the Andrews Air Force Base.
