Capital Lighting & Supply participates in ABC’s EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION

Rice, VA. – May 7, 2008 - Capital Lighting & Supply, a subsidiary of Sonepar-USA recently donated material to ABC’s hit reality show EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION to rebuild a home for the Lucas Family in Rice, VA.

CLS was approached by customer Mark Southall, CEO of Creative Electrical Contractors of Farmville, VA to partner with them on the project. “We donated all our services and supplies which added up to close to $28,000 not including the supplier donations,” said Southall. “We put in 1,100 man-hours from start to finish. We began wiring the 3,000 square-foot house at 5:30 am and by 11:00 pm the drywall was installed. It’s fast pace all right.”

"We were excited to help Mark on this project,” said Terry Motley, Outside Sales Representative for Capital Lighting & Supply. “It’s not everyday you get to be involved in a production of this type. It was especially rewarding to take part in the reveal day and to see the family’s reactions.” CLS donated over $12,000 worth of electrical material to help with the cause.

The Lucas Family were the lucky winners of the home makeover. Michael Lucas began building his family’s home on a piece of land located on an historic Civil War battleground. However, before he could complete the project his National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq leaving the home uninhabitable for the family. This episode was shot in December 2007 but just recently aired.

Creative Electrical Contractors (CEC) has been in business over 10 years servicing the central Virginia area. What began as a one man operation is now over 100 employees. CEC specializes in commercial, industrial and design-build work.
